Assistant Manager - Fund Accounting
Purpose of the Job
The Assistant Manager - Fund Accounting is responsible for managing the preparation, review and delivery of financial reports and accounts for a portfolio of funds and fund-related entities. The role ensures that all client accounting requirements are delivered accurately, within agreed deadlines and in line with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.
Working closely with clients, auditors, administrators and other key stakeholders, the Assistant Manager provides technical accounting expertise, enhances service delivery and contributes to the ongoing development of accounting processes, controls and reporting standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and review of financial statements and reports for a portfolio of funds and fund-related entities.
- Develop a thorough understanding of fund structures, transactions and reporting requirements.
- Deliver client accounting requirements and reporting obligations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Apply relevant accounting standards, including UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP, and support the implementation of evolving industry best practices.
- Establish and enhance accounting and reporting procedures for new funds and entities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to administration teams to promote accurate and timely bookkeeping.
- Calculate and review Net Asset Values (NAVs) in accordance with fund-specific requirements.
- Build effective relationships with clients, auditors and professional advisers to coordinate reporting and audit deliverables.
- Attend board and client meetings to present financial information and provide accounting insights.
- Coordinate the completion of audits and support the fulfilment of statutory, regulatory and client reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal policies, procedures and operational efficiencies.
- Support senior management in delivering an excellent client experience and maintaining strong client relationships.

- ACCA or ACA qualified, or qualified through significant relevant professional experience.
- Experience within financial services, fund accounting or a related accounting environment.
- Exposure to Private Equity, Real Estate or Corporate structures is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong technical accounting expertise with experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements.
- Knowledge of fund structures, financial reporting requirements and applicable accounting standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in financial systems and technology.
- Relationship-building skills with a professional, client-focused approach.
