Mission Contribution:
To ensure the efficient and cost effective operation and stewardship of the Goodwill retail store to maximize profitability and increase employment and/or training opportunities.
Function:
Under the team leadership of the Director of Store Development or the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for all aspects of operating a donated goods retail store.
Essential Functions:

Ensures World Class donor and customer service is delivered consistently by creating a positive experience for every shopper, donor, and team member.

Trains, develops, supervises, and evaluates team members within the framework of Goodwill policies, procedures, and job descriptions.

Conducts hands-on training and maintains proficiency in all store positions. Must be a hands-on leader who is actively involved in all areas of store operations and able to meet the physical requirements of each position.

Oversees the proper handling, processing, merchandising, rotation, pricing, and stewardship of donated goods in accordance with agency standards.

Monitors store performance and key operational metrics, including sales to budget, donor value, production, payroll, inventory flow, and labor productivity, and takes corrective action when needed.

Assists with scheduling, payroll management, timecard reviews, and staffing adjustments to support operational and financial objectives.

Ensures agency property, equipment, supplies, and facilities are properly maintained, secured, ordered, and utilized in accordance with established budgets and agency practices.

Maintains compliance with all safety, security, loss prevention, risk management, and agency policies, including the timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and unusual incidents.

Works with the Director of Risk Management to maintain compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards.

Maintains knowledge of agency programs, operational standards, industry trends, and competitive pricing practices.

Supports agency initiatives, special events, training programs, and accreditation requirements as assigned.
