Were currently working with a well-established, independently run food-led pub in the heart of Cranleigh, and theyre on the lookout for a talented and ambitious Assistant Manager to join their friendly and professional front-of-house team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of pub management experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is looking to grow within a supportive team that values quality, personality, and high standards.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you'll be hands-on and involved in all aspects of the pubs daily operations, including:

  • Supporting the General Manager in leading a busy front-of-house team

  • Managing cellar operations, stock levels, and beer line maintenance

  • Ensuring exceptional guest experiences across both bar and dining areas

  • Supporting rota planning, training, and team development

  • Upholding all health & safety and licensing regulations

  • Taking the lead on shifts and being the go-to person when the GM is off-site

This is a genuinely food-led pub, so youll need to be comfortable working in tandem with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service from start to finish.

What Were Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager in a pub setting

  • Strong cellar management knowledge and bar operations experience

  • Confident managing a team in a fast-paced, food-led environment

  • Passionate about hospitality, with a warm and professional approach

  • A calm and organised presence especially during busy service times

  • A keen eye for detail, standards, and smooth service delivery

  • A personal licence would be a bonus, but not essential
