Project delivery, research, and technical
support
- Take ownership of defined work streams and
support client assignments; lead smaller or shorter assignments under the
supervision of senior team members, where appropriate.
- Plan and conduct primary and secondary
research, including literature reviews, interviews, field surveys, focus group discussions, market research, and data analysis, as required.
- Structure
problems, analyse evidence, and synthesise findings into high-quality reports, presentations,
briefs, tools, and recommendations relevant to client needs.
- Support advisory work across financial
inclusion themes, including diagnostics, product or channel development,
ecosystem assessments, implementation and pilot support, and policy or
regulatory analysis.
Client and stakeholder engagement
- Engage professionally with clients and
ecosystem stakeholders, including financial service providers, regulators,
government agencies, development partners, private-sector organisations, and industry
actors.
- Participate in and, where appropriate,
support the facilitation of client meetings, workshops, field visits, and
stakeholder consultations; prepare materials and document decisions and
follow-up actions.
- Coordinate with IFE colleagues and
cross-functional MSC teams to ensure smooth delivery, timely communication, and
quality outputs. Be willing to travel within Bangladesh and occasionally
internationally, as assignments require.
Business development and knowledge
support
- Support
concept notes, expressions of interest (EOIs), proposals, and technical
approaches for opportunities from clients, donors, governments, and development
partners.
- Conduct market and background research on
prospective clients, emerging themes, policy developments, and industry trends
to support business development and practice growth.
- Contribute
to MSC's knowledge leadership through focus notes, briefing notes, blogs, case
studies, toolkits, and other publications on inclusive finance topics.
- Contribute ideas and market intelligence to
help identify and pursue opportunities that expand MSC's inclusive finance
advisory portfolio in Bangladesh.
Requirements
Educational qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in economics,
finance, business, public administration, development studies, social
sciences, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience in
consulting or advisory, financial services, development programs, research, or
a related field, with exposure to financial inclusion or inclusive finance.
Required knowledge and skills
- Exposure to one or more areas of the
inclusive finance ecosystem, such as banking and microfinance, digital
financial services and payments, sustainable finance, product and market
development, or ecosystem development.
- Experience delivering projects or defined
workstreams, including planning activities, coordinating stakeholders, managing
timelines, and producing high-quality deliverables.
- Strong primary and secondary research
experience, with the ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative
information and translate evidence into practical recommendations.
- Experience working with financial
institutions, development partners, government or regulatory stakeholders,
private-sector actors, or other ecosystem participants in Bangladesh is
preferred. Regulatory familiarity is an added advantage.
