Assistant Manager, Middle Office Service Delivery
SUMMARY
The Middle Office Assistant Manager, Service Delivery is responsible for direct oversight of the day-to-day operations and supervision of direct reports in support of Service Delivery clients. The primary responsibility is to ensure daily deliverables are met accurately and timely, to ensure client requirements are met and the operation team provides top tier client service. The Assistant Manager is responsible for balancing oversight of the daily operational supervisor while executing on the tactical development of staff, processes, services and product offerings.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service Delivery – Operations
Monitors staff performance to ensure daily, weekly, monthly deadlines are met
Monitors client trading activity to ensure completeness of daily tasks
Ensures staff adherence to operational controls and processes
Document processes for daily use by staff and training of new hires
Ensures proper training of staff on new and existing processes
Provides oversight of tasks to complete set up to onboard new clients and new accounts
Maintains expertise knowledge of trade services operating model, including comprehensive understanding of support systems, external and internal
Manages escalations by staff or client service inquiries for clients and internal business units
Directs activity of staff and provides processing support of day-to-day operations
Department Management
Ensures staff adherence to Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Client Service Guides and internal service level requirements
Ensures staff adheres to team policies and procedures
Identifies and recommends process and product improvements
Manages resources for user acceptance testing and implementation of internal or external product changes
Provides support to independent SOC1 & GIPS audits as applicable to Service Delivery
Executes on business continuity plans for the team as needed
Assist with defining and onboarding new services, vendor products, and/or internal systems
Personnel Management
Develops direct reports through one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development discussions, if applicable conducts disciplinary actions
Assist direct reports with goals in alignment with department and company goals Responsible for adequate staffing resources to meet existing needs and future growth Ensures staff is following company policies and procedures
May perform other duties as required and assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, or related field
3+ years of experience in Accounting, Middle and/or Backoffice operations
Experience supervising people a plus
Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with internal and external parties
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remain organized and effectively transition between competing priorities, management of staff, and client or senior management requests
Ability to successfully delegate and assign work to staff
Ability to apply analytical reasoning and insightful analysis to decision making and problem resolution
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
In-depth functional and industry knowledge of middle or back-office operations
Knowledge of Industry Products: FIS InvestOne, Bloomberg, Order Management Systems and familiarity with financial markets and instruments, including alternative instruments is a plus
Proficient Project management skills
Developed management and leadership skills
