Assistant Manager - Procurement, Bangalore
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager - Procurement Audit to strengthen procurement governance, ensure compliance with company policies, and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization. The incumbent will be responsible for auditing procurement activities, assessing risks, evaluating controls, and working closely with Procurement, Finance, Projects, and Business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Audit & Compliance
- Conduct end-to-end audits of procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor selection, contract management, and purchase order issuance.
- Evaluate compliance with procurement policies, SOPs, approval matrices, and delegation of authority (DOA).
- Review procurement transactions for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established controls.
- Identify business and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
Vendor & Contract Audits
- Audit vendor onboarding, empanelment, and performance evaluation processes.
- Review RFQs, tendering processes, bid evaluations, comparative statements, and negotiation records.
- Assess contractual compliance and monitor adherence to agreed commercial terms and conditions.
- Identify instances of procurement deviations and non-compliance.
Risk Management & Controls
- Evaluate the effectiveness of procurement controls and risk mitigation measures.
- Identify potential risks related to vendor management, procurement fraud, conflict of interest, and contract execution.
- Perform control testing and validate closure of audit observations.
Audit Reporting & Analytics
- Analyze procurement spend data to identify trends, exceptions, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risk ratings, and recommendations.
- Track and monitor closure of audit findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Support management with procurement MIS, dashboards, and compliance reports.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Projects, and Business teams during audit assignments.
- Conduct discussions with stakeholders to understand processes and validate observations.
- Drive awareness and implementation of procurement best practices across the organization.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or Procurement preferred.
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in Procurement Audit, Internal Audit, Procurement Operations, Supply Chain Controls, or Risk Management.
- Experience in Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, EPC, Manufacturing, Engineering Services, or Project-based organizations is preferred.
- Exposure to procurement lifecycle audits and vendor compliance reviews.
