ASSISTANT MANAGER, QUALITY ASSURANCE/ CONTROL

As an Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance / Quality Control, you will play an integral role in driving and maintaining quality standards across our construction projects. You will oversee the implementation of quality management systems, ensure compliance with project specifications and statutory requirements, and work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and relevant authorities to achieve the highest standards of workmanship and project delivery.

You will also drive quality improvement initiatives, identify potential quality risks and ensure that appropriate preventive and corrective measures are implemented throughout the construction process.

Job Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and continuously improve the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Develop, review and monitor project-specific Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality procedures to ensure compliance with contractual specifications and project requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure construction works, materials and workmanship comply with approved drawings, specifications, relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinate and monitor inspection and testing activities, including material inspections, site inspections and testing arrangements with consultants and relevant stakeholders.
• Identify, investigate and follow up on non-conformance reports (NCRs), defects and quality issues. Ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
• Liaise closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities on quality-related matters, inspections and resolution of technical issues.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits, project quality assessments and compliance reviews. Facilitate external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Maintain proper quality records, inspection reports, test results, audit findings and other QA/QC documentation. Prepare periodic quality performance reports for management review.

Job Requirements

• Possess a degree IN Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum5 years of relevant QA/QC experience in the construction industry, preferably with an A1 main contractor.
• Good knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, construction quality standards, inspection procedures and relevant statutory requirements.
• Hands-one experience in conducting site quality inspections, internal audits and managing non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
• Good understanding of BCA requirements, CONQUAS and relevant construction quality assessment standards would be an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
