Assistant Manager, Research Postgraduate Programme (PhD) (26270168)
The School of Business is looking for a self-motivated and responsible candidate to join the team managing the Research Postgraduate Programme (PhD) under the Dean’s Office as the Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full spectrum of administration and operation of the Research Postgraduate (RPg) programme, including admissions, registration, programme and course administration, examinations, scholarships/studentships, student matters and related processes;
- Lead the planning and implementation of programme marketing, promotion and admissions initiatives; oversee the RPg website and social media platforms; develop and coordinate news, social-media content and basic visuals; and monitor the effectiveness of promotional activities;
- Coordinate with teaching faculty and relevant University units on course delivery, as well as other academic and administrative matters;
- Plan and manage student activities, seminars, overseas learning opportunities and other programme-related events, including logistics and stakeholder coordination;
- Implement quality-assurance schemes; compile and analyse programme data; and prepare proposals, reports and submissions as required;
- Liaise effectively with faculty members, students, external partners, organisations, vendors and other stakeholders;
- Provide secretarial support to committees, working groups and meetings, including preparing agendas, arranging meetings, taking minutes and following up on action items;
- Maintain accurate records and databases, and handle related operational and financial matters, including purchasing requests and payments; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of the School or delegates.
Requirements:
- A recognised bachelor’s degree or above, with at least five years of relevant work experience in the tertiary education sector. Experience in postgraduate or research-degree programme administration would be highly desirable;
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex programme administration and multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines;
- Experience in marketing, promotion and the planning or production of digital and social-media content;
- Familiarity with platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, WeChat, Xiaohongshu and Weibo. Experience in website content management, basic visual design, or digital performance analysis would be an advantage;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin, with strong writing, editing and presentation skills;
- A proactive, service-oriented and problem-solving mindset, with initiative, ownership and close attention to detail;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and coordination skills, together with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; and
- High computer literacy and competence in maintaining administrative records and databases.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of up to two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement, and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
