About Perx Car Wash
Perx Car Wash is a local institution, proudly serving the Anderson community for over 60 years as a full-service car wash. We’re looking for a driven, experienced Assistant Manager to help lead our team and deliver an exceptional experience to every customer who pulls in.

The Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll be a key leader on-site. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll drive membership sales, lead our wash and finishing teams, keep equipment running, and make sure every vehicle leaves spotless and every customer leaves happy. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in running a tight, clean, high-performing operation.

What You’ll Do

Sales & Membership Growth

Actively promote and sell our Perx unlimited wash membership program to every customer
Coach and motivate team members to hit membership sales goals
Track daily sales performance and identify opportunities to grow revenue

Team Leadership

Assist in scheduling, training, and supervising front-line staff, including prep, interior, and finishing crews
Help ensure proper staffing levels during peak and off-peak hours
Hold team members accountable to performance and service standards

Full-Service Quality

Oversee interior cleaning and exterior finishing to make sure every vehicle meets our standards
Inspect vehicles before they’re returned to customers
Handle any vehicle damage claims professionally and according to company procedures

Equipment & Operations

Perform routine equipment checks and minor maintenance tasks
Identify and report issues promptly to minimize downtime
Make sure the wash operates safely, including the proper handling and storage of wash chemicals
Open and close the site, handle cash, and complete end-of-day reporting

Customer Service

Set the tone for a welcoming, professional customer experience
Handle customer concerns and complaints with confidence and care
Lead by example on the lot: visible, engaged, and service-focused

Requirements

Car wash experience strongly preferred; we’ll train the right leader on our equipment
Prior management or supervisory experience required (car wash, restaurant, retail, or automotive service backgrounds welcome)
Full-time availability, including weekends
Strong communication and team leadership skills
Sales-minded, with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Able to stand for full shifts and lift up to [50] lbs
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

Pay: $15–$20/hour based on experience, plus tips
