Assistant Marketing Manager
The role
You will run a portfolio of client accounts end to end, owning the relationship, setting the content direction, and making sure what we promised actually ships. This is a hands-on management role, not an oversight one. You will be in the strategy meeting in the morning, on a client's floor with a camera crew at night, and in the reporting deck on Friday.
You will also be the person a Marketing Executive turns to when they are stuck, and the person the Director trusts to keep an account healthy without being asked.
What you will do
Client and account management
Own the day-to-day relationship for a portfolio of retainer clients, acting as their primary point of contact
Lead monthly and quarterly client meetings, presenting performance, insight, and forward strategy
Translate client business objectives into content and campaign frameworks with defined, measurable goals
Manage scope, timelines, and expectations, flagging scope creep early and negotiating it properly
Prepare performance reports and After-Action Reviews that draw genuine conclusions, not just numbers
Identify and pitch organic growth opportunities within existing accounts
Content and social
Set the content direction and campaign calendar across Meta, TikTok, and other platforms as required
Review and approve copy, creative, and posting schedules before they reach the client
Guide trend adoption, judging which live trends genuinely fit a client's brand pillars and which do not
Oversee community management standards and escalate sensitive interactions appropriately
Brief and interpret paid media activity, working with the team to align organic and paid effort
Production coordination
Brief photographers, videographers, editors, and designers with clarity
Plan and resource shoots, including on-site coverage at client venues during peak periods
Manage freelance bench allocation across concurrent projects, balancing cost against quality
Oversee post-production flow so deliverables land on time and on brief
Attend key shoots and events as the senior Whimsikal presence on the ground
Team
Supervise and develop Marketing Executives and Interns through day-to-day guidance and structured feedback
Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and capability building within the marketing team
What we are looking for
At least 4 years of experience in marketing, social media, or account management, with a meaningful portion gained in an agency environment
Demonstrated ownership of client relationships, including presenting to and negotiating with clients directly
Strong command of organic social strategy across Meta and TikTok, with working knowledge of paid media
Experience briefing and managing creative production, you can tell a good shoot brief from a vague one
Sound judgement under time pressure, and the confidence to make a call and stand behind it
Excellent written and spoken English
Willingness to work evenings and weekends when client events require it, with time off in lieu
Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
Advantageous
Prior work with hospitality, F&B, or lifestyle brands
Experience in events, sponsorship, hospitality, or on-site operations
Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, and social analytics and reporting tools
Basic hands-on capability in editing or design (Premiere Pro, CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
What you get
Direct ownership of recognisable brands, with your work visible in the market
A short line to the Director, decisions get made in a day, not quarters
Genuine variety: one week a Michelin-starred restaurant, the next a music festival
Support for relevant training and professional development
Time off in lieu for event and weekend coverage
