We are looking for a motivated Assistant Procurement Manager to support our procurement team in sourcing and managing quality supplies for our kitchen.
Job Summary
The Assistant Procurement Manager will support the Procurement Manager in the day-to-day sourcing, ordering, and tracking of food and non-food supplies, helping to ensure smooth operations, cost control, and consistent ingredient quality across all outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing fresh seafood, meat, vegetables, and specialty Teochew ingredients
- Liaise with suppliers, wet market vendors, and wholesalers on orders and deliveries
- Follow up on purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor stock levels and help coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages or wastage
- Check incoming goods for freshness, quality, and correct quantities
- Maintain organized procurement records, price lists, and supplier documentation
- Support the Procurement Manager in supplier negotiations and evaluations
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and Head Chef on ingredient requirements
- Help identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards during receiving and storage
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory reporting
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or F&B operations
- Basic knowledge of Chinese/Teochew ingredients and seafood is an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with suppliers and staff
- Detail-oriented and well-organized, able to multi-task under time pressure
- Proficiency in Mandarin/Teochew dialect is an advantage (for supplier communication)
- Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory/POS systems)
- Willingness to work early mornings for market visits when required
- A team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude
