Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in construction management and gain hands-on experience in all phases of project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in overseeing construction projects from start to finish
  • Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, and material deliveries
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timelines and budgets are maintained
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and contracts
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment
  • Conduct site visits to ensure safety standards and quality control
  • Help identify and resolve project issues proactively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction or project coordination (internships acceptable)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) is a plus
  • Knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes

Essential Physical Functions

  • Ability to travel to and access active construction sites.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while inspecting project sites.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate scaffolding or uneven terrain when necessary.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, or reach while reviewing work areas or site conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain, during site visits.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility vests, and protective footwear while on construction sites.
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction environments that may include noise, dust, moving equipment, and other construction-related hazards.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry materials, documents, or equipment up to 50 pounds.
