Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager for Engineering and Construction is responsible for supporting the Project Manager on assigned technical, construction, or engineering related projects. The majority of projects are related to building improvements, office buildouts, and upgrading building mechanical operations.

This position will assist in the management of on-site personnel, budgeting, risk-assessment, and scheduling, in order to deliver successful project outcomes and client satisfaction. The successful candidate must be a flexible and adaptable team player with strong organizational and communication skills.

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per year dependent on experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage various small or large building improvement and alteration projects, ranging from workplace buildouts; addressing maintennace issues for plumbing, electricial, and HVAC systems; oversight of commissioning and engineering design services; and execution of complex construction projects.
  • Act as a back-up to the Project Manager when they are off-site.
  • Perform site and equipment quality control inspections
  • Participate in cross functional team and client meetings
  • Develop facilities processes improvements to enhance team performance and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Gather and analyze data from blueprints and reports
  • Utilize facility and equipment specifications to develop optimal building operation strategies
  • Analyze project costs and prepare budgets.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, clients, and internal company stakeholders
  • Prepare written and verbal reports of project progress for the Project Manager and clients
  • Design and oversee the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, and quality controls.
  • Evaluate operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Develop process plans and optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards. Prepare compliance documentation.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the project proceed while adhering to internal company SOPs as well as external regulations and laws – this includes maintenance of project documentation
  • Work independently when required.
  • Work may require occasional travel, some to sites outside of the city.
  • Other duties as assiged.
