Description

Assistant Project Manager - Scotland
Freedom’s Scotland business unit is recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of our Large Capital Delivery (LCD) projects across Scotland.
Working alongside Project Managers and the wider delivery team, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of electrical infrastructure projects. You will help ensure works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, while maintaining positive relationships with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
The role will involve supporting projects through development, design, procurement, mobilisation, construction and handover. This is an opportunity for someone with relevant practical experience or an interest in project delivery to develop their technical, commercial and project management skills within a supportive team.
Responsibilities

Support Project Managers with the day-to-day coordination and delivery of LCD projects across Scotland, taking responsibility for allocated tasks and work packages.
Work with design teams, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and customers to coordinate activities, communicate priorities and follow up on actions.
Promote a positive health and safety culture and support compliance with company procedures and project requirements.
Assist with maintaining project programmes, monitoring progress and highlighting risks, delays or outstanding information.
Support project mobilisation, including coordinating site documentation, materials, plant, equipment and resource requirements.
Assist with tracking project costs, preparing valuations and maintaining records of changes and additional works.
Support the maintenance of project registers, including risks, early warnings, compensation events and outstanding actions, with guidance from the Project Manager.
Attend project and site meetings, prepare progress updates, record actions and follow up with the relevant parties.
Assist with coordinating design information, approvals and project documentation to support planned delivery dates.
Support the preparation and collation of quality records, as-built drawings, test results and handover information.
Develop technical, commercial and project management knowledge through practical experience and support from the wider team.

Requirements

Some experience in construction, utilities, electrical infrastructure or project coordination would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks and follow up on actions.
Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, site teams and customers.
Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and an interest in developing a career in project management.
A commitment to health and safety and delivering work to a good standard.
Willingness to travel to project sites across Scotland as required.
Relevant qualifications or site safety training would be advantageous
