What You’ll Do:
As part of WSP’s Project Delivery team, you will support project managers in delivering high-quality outcomes across renewable, transmission, and energy infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on project controls, reporting, and coordination.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and is passionate about elevating project management as a core technical discipline. Your responsibilities will include:
• Support project planning and delivery, assisting Project Managers across development and construction phases
• Maintain and track project schedules, deliverables, and key milestones (including stage gates and hold points)
• Assist with cost control activities, including forecasting, invoicing, budget tracking, and variance analysis
• Support change management processes, including variations, claims tracking, and documentation
• Prepare and maintain project reporting, including progress reports, dashboards, and risk registers
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (designers, contractors, and clients) to ensure alignment on scope and deliverables
• Support design management activities, including document control, design reviews, and interface tracking
• Contribute to risk and issue management, ensuring risks are tracked, escalated, and mitigated
• Support proposal preparation and bid submissions where required
• Drive consistency in project processes, templates, and reporting standards
What we will love about:
• A degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• 2–6 years’ experience in project coordination, project controls, or assistant PM roles (ideally in energy, infrastructure, or consulting)
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle and delivery processes
• Experience with project controls functions (cost, schedule, reporting, risk tracking)
• Familiarity with tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel (advanced), or similar reporting tools
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Effective communication skills and ability to work across distributed/global teams
• Exposure to transmission, renewables, or infrastructure projects is desirable
• Build core project management and controls capability on major international energy projects
• Work closely with senior PMs across Australia and global teams
• Gain exposure to end-to-end delivery of utility-scale renewable and network projects
• Progress into Project Manager or specialist Project Controls roles
