Job description

Extensive knowledge of personal training and classes being taught.
An understanding of current trends in fitness and wellness.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, muscular function, exercise program implementation, safe group exercise or instructional procedures, and use of related class materials and/or equipment.
Lead and motivate team to a level of service which exceeds all guest expectations by facilitating teamwork and ensuring all duties are performed in a consistent manner and in the time allocated.
Maintain close contact with guests, receiving feedback regarding the operation of the spa and recreational facilities of the hotel.
Ability to manage cultural diversity.
Meet requirements of VIP guests.
Express continuous commitment to participant development.
Advocate of safety and risk management.
Promote the fitness area, personal training sessions, and classes.
Encourage sales through full product and price knowledge of offered and available facilities.
Act in accordance with all hotel policies, personnel policies, spa policies and procedures including all health and sanitary regulations.
Provide optimum service through staff training, coaching, feedback and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
Monitor products and accessories used in the spa and recreation department to ensure all budgets are achieved and adhered to.
Assist in the preparation of yearly operating, operation equipment and capital expenditure budget.
Prepare daily revenue reports and monthly usage reports.
Ensure that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
Assist in building an efficient team of employees by striving to maintain standards of excellence.
Conduct employee evaluations for all spa and recreation department positions, review existing performance and identify any areas for further development and improvement.
Interview potential new employees in liaison with the people and culture department.
Supervise departmental orientation programs for new employees.
Conduct training courses for new employees and regular refresher courses for existing employees.
Offer suggestions and make recommendations to management on ideas for improving the spa operation and performance.
Full responsibilities of the gym, health club, swimming pool, guest facilities and equipment maintenance.
Follow up on maintenance contracts and warranties.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel environment in the UAE is required.
Holder of the relevant professional certifications and licenses required to operate within the UAE.
Proven experience in managing and leading small teams across gym/health club, swimming pool, and spa operations.
Strong understanding of wellness trends, guest lifestyle programming, and recreation-focused guest experiences.
