Assistant Regulatory Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Regulatory Analyst based in the United States.

This entry-level role supports a regulatory intelligence product used to help food businesses navigate complex requirements across global markets. You’ll monitor international regulatory developments and translate detailed information into accurate, actionable content. The position combines research, analysis, database management, quality assurance, and client support. You’ll work alongside experienced analysts while developing expertise in food safety, regulatory affairs, compliance, and related subject areas. Your work will directly contribute to the accuracy and reliability of information used by clients to manage regulatory risk. This is an opportunity to build a strong foundation in regulatory analysis within a collaborative, detail-focused environment.

Accountabilities

  • Monitor international regulatory sources and review regulatory documents, proposals, policy updates, and other developments relevant to regulatory limits and food-related requirements.
  • Research and interpret regulatory information, accurately update regulatory databases, and complete associated quality assurance activities.
  • Support analysts and senior analysts in maintaining regulatory content across relevant markets, commodities, substances, and subject areas.
  • Maintain and validate database information, including Market Info Reports and the addition of new markets, commodities, and substances.
  • Prepare clear, concise regulatory summaries for client communications and contribute to recurring team deliverables such as weekly regulatory monitors and client charts.
  • Identify information requiring additional investigation, conduct follow-up research, and escalate complex or unclear issues appropriately.
  • Provide timely client support through email and support-ticketing systems, helping resolve questions related to regulatory information and product content.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of regulatory products, processes, databases, and internal systems.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with team members while also taking ownership of assigned research, database updates, and deliverables.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant professional experience; relevant fields include food safety, science, regulatory affairs, compliance, law, agriculture, or related disciplines.
    • Ability to research, review, and interpret complex regulatory documents and extract relevant information accurately.
    • Strong analytical, fact-checking, and critical-thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to summarize complex regulatory information clearly and concisely.
    • Experience organizing and managing information in spreadsheets, databases, or similar systems.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines.
    • Curiosity and eagerness to develop expertise in regulatory requirements, food-related standards, and emerging industry developments.
    • Sound judgment and professional discretion when evaluating information and determining when issues require escalation.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
