About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, Hong Kong within Reservations Department in Hong Kong, the Assistant Reservations Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the Reservations Department and to provide supervision, direction and leadership in the Reservations Department in accordance with the objectives, performance and quality standards established by the hotel. The Assistant Reservations Manager reports to the Cluster Revenue Manager and in close partnership with Reservations team at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.

As Assistant Reservations Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assisting in overseeing the Reservations Department and manage the daily operations and efficient running of the department.
  • Ensure team members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service and selling techniques.
  • Build strong relationships with guests and team members in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively.
  • Assist in the managing, training and developing of the team.
  • Work closely with Revenue Management, Sales and Catering team to maximize yielding opportunities.
  • Ensure that communication with other departments, notably Credit, Sales, Concierge, Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B and any other concerned department is maintained with information which pertains to them.
  • Ensure proper implementation of reservations procedures and maximize conversion ratios.
  • Ensure all accounting procedures are adhered to according to the Company SOPs.
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel and manage the departments' adherence to achieving the strategy.

As Assistant Reservations Manager, we expect from you:

  • Degree holder in Business Management, Hospitality Management or relevant discipline
  • 3 years relevant experience preferably in luxury hotel
  • Dedication to providing great customer service
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn and able to work under pressure with tight timeline
  • Good communication and negotiation skills with both internal and external guests
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
