ASSISTANT SAFETY PROJECT MANAGER(APSM)

Job Summary
You will oversee workplace safety and health (WSH) compliance on major building construction projects, ensuring safe supervision of works and adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise WSH practices on construction projects of similar scale and complexity, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Apply WSH expertise to manage safety risks in major building construction works, including cut and cover tunnels, deep excavation, foundation, and ground improvement works
- Coordinate with project teams to implement effective safety controls and monitor adherence to WSH policies throughout project execution
- Communicate safety requirements clearly to all stakeholders and foster a collaborative team environment to promote workplace safety
- Utilize experience in airside environments to address specific safety challenges and regulatory requirements in such settings
- Conversant with all procedures in the Changi Aerodrome Manual, 1“Airside works Procedures Manual”, Airport Operational and Safety (AOS) requirements”, and Workplace Safety & Health Manual. To make conscious effort to be constantly updated on any subsequent revisions to the above-mentioned manuals, procedures and all applicable airport circulars.
Required competencies and certifications
- Registered with MOM as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and actively practicing for at least 3 years
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of WSH experience with at least one completed project in supervision of major building construction works
- Experience working with developers or main contractors for at least 3 years
- Prior exposure to airside environments and their safety requirements
- Good communication skills and team player.
