ASSISTANT SECURITY MANAGER

Summary

Oversee day-to-day hotel security operations, supervise staff, inspect safety equipment, and handle guest complaints and investigations.

To assist the Security Manager in the Administration of Security Operation in the Department and to cover his duties during leave or absence.
Major duties and responsibilities

i. To ensure that the day to day operations of the Department Function smoothly.

ii. To supervise the Department’s House Officers and Security Officers and ensure that they discharge their duties in accordance with the Duty Scheme, Procedures and Instructions.

iii. To participate in the planning and organizing of Security Coverage For Special Functions/Operations conducted or organized by the Hotel.
To prepare the Annual Leave Roster to spread manpower availability evenly throughout the year. To prepare Draft Monthly Reports.

v. To ensure that officers under his charge conform to correct work attitudes and accepted norms of conduct as expected of Security Officers.

vi. To collate and disseminate information providing background knowledge as basis for crime prevention and detection.

vii. Inspecting and conduct regular checks on “perimeter defense” (i.e .All Fire Exit Doors, locking devices, panic bolts, alarm systems, Fire Fighting Equipments) and to ensure that they are in good working conditions.

viii. To ensure that the Lost and Properties are properly recorded and channeled to the appropriate department.

ix. Ensure that Fire Fighting Team is trained and ready.

x. Conduct investigations and put up reports on cases.

xi. To attend to complaints/requests from all ranks as well as guests.

xii. To attend Liaison meetings held within the department and those organized by SHA.

2.2 Daily duties and responsibilities

i. Conduct operational briefings.

ii. Supervision of staff on duly.

iii. Keeping surveillance on potential criminals and errant staff.

iv. Maintaining daily attendance record and ensuring there is sufficient manpower for all shifts.

v. Attending to Leave applications in consideration with daily manpower requirements. Intelligence gathering from within and without the department on criminal elements.

vii. Checking the following items to ensure that they are properly maintained, issued or accounted for, (i.e. Duty Officer’s Diary, CCTV, Pocket Diaries, Keys & Key Register, Parcel passes & Personal Property Passes, Office Equipment, Hand Scan Counter, Undesirable Character, Employee Surveillance Record, Room Surveillance Record).

viii. Checking on the CCTV systems.

2.3 Periodic duties and responsibilities

i. Planning and organizing crowd control duties during special occasions and events.

ii. Conducting spot checks on staff.

iii. Participating in random night duties.

iv. Attending to complaints of faulty carpark machines and performing spot-on minor repairs.

v. Conduct fire safety briefing and fire training to the FFT.

2.4 Occasional duties and responsibilities

i. Building rapport with police officers and other counterparts.

ii. To keep the Security Manager constantly posted on all matters of interest affecting the Hotel and the Department.

iii. To perform any other duties as may be required of him by the Security Manager from time to time.
