The Role


We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to join our Structures team on a major project in Henley.

Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will play a key role in ensuring site operations run safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures. The role will focus on the day-to-day administration and coordination of site activities, including health and safety documentation, site records, inductions, and workforce compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring site management professional to gain experience on a complex and technically challenging project while developing the skills and knowledge required to progress into a more senior management role in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inductions for employees, subcontractors and visitors.

  • Maintain accurate site records, registers and documentation, including lifting operations records and workforce information.

  • Assist with the administration and monitoring of health, safety and environmental procedures.

  • Ensure site documentation, permits and compliance records are up to date and readily available.

  • Support the Site Manager with daily site coordination and planning activities.

  • Monitor workforce attendance and maintain site access records.

  • Carry out regular site inspections and assist in closing out any actions identified.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure documentation and compliance requirements are met.

  • Assist with toolbox talks, briefings and communications across the site team.

  • Provide general administrative and operational support to ensure the project runs smoothly.

About You

To be considered for the role of Assistant Site Manager, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a construction site management, site administration, site supervision or assistant site management role.

  • A good understanding of construction site operations and health & safety requirements.

  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and digital site management systems.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with site teams and subcontractors.

  • Proactive, reliable and willing to take ownership of site procedures and documentation.

  • Keen to learn, develop and progress within a site management career.

  • Relevant site qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS or CSCS are advantageous, although training may be provided for the right candidate.
