Meridian Health Services is currently seeking a part-time Assistant Social Worker for our multidisciplinary inpatient psychiatric team located at River Bend Hospital, in West Lafayette, IN. This role will work to work weekdays between 11a-7p, and weekends between 10a and 6p for a total of 25 hours weekly. The successful candidate effectively communicates (verbally and in writing) with clients, members of the treatment team, social service agencies, care providers, families, and others; utilizes available technology to communicate efficiently and provide for the protection and care of the individual; is able to use skills to de-escalate agitated persons; is able to understand and tolerate constructive criticism and accept input from many different team members.

Assistant Social Worker Key Responsibilities:

• Assists Social Worker or Therapist in developing and writing treatment plans.
• Produces positive treatment outcomes with individuals.
• Assists in psychosocial assessments.
• Provides individual and group treatment to patients.
• Maintains relevant and timely progress/contact notes in the EMR system.
• Assists in providing individual and group therapy.
• Provides crisis intervention as trained.
• Provides education to clients and/or family members.
• Performs all duties in a manner consistent with Meridian Health Services standards, policies and procedures and regulations and in accordance with local, state and federal laws and with ethical standards of profession.
• Actively participates in professional growth and continuing education activities.

We are seeking Assistant Social Worker candidates with the following qualities:

• Must have earned a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
• Experience working with persons with developmental and/or mental health challenges is preferred.
