Why This Role Matters

Ready to take the next step in automotive store leadership? As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll help run daily store operations, lead the customer experience, coach teammates, and build the skills to grow into a Store Manager role. It's a great fit if you have automotive service, tire shop, Service Advisor, retail leadership, or store operations experience and want a clear path forward. You'll partner with the Store Manager to keep the shop moving, communicate clearly with customers, and support safe, consistent, and profitable store performance.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay, including bonus or commission opportunities
  • Paid training and hands-on development
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid time off
  • Employee discounts
  • Career advancement opportunities, including growth toward Store Manager roles

What You’ll Do

  • Support daily store operations as manager on duty, including opening and closing, cash handling, facility checks, and end-of-day documentation.
  • Partner with the Store Manager on scheduling, teammate assignments, shop workflow, KPI execution, and coaching to store standards.
  • Lead a positive customer experience by greeting customers, documenting concerns, reviewing service history, and keeping customers updated throughout the visit.
  • Present auto repair, tire, and maintenance recommendations clearly and transparently based on inspections, customer needs, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Help manage parts and tire inventory, including receiving, invoicing, returns, warranty tracking, and POS accuracy.
  • Follow safety procedures, escalation practices, documentation standards, and company policies while helping the team deliver high-quality work.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

You don’t need to know everything on day one — we’ll provide training. The right candidate brings customer focus, accountability, communication skills, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced automotive service environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-first approach.
  • Comfort using POS systems, basic computer tools, and basic math for estimates, invoices, and transactions.
  • Ability to lead by example and work a schedule that meets business needs, including opening/closing shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred:

  • Previous Service Advisor, Assistant Manager, retail automotive sales, or store operations experience.
  • State Inspector License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire, if required by location.
  • ASE Certified Service Consultant certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire, if required or available.

Growth & Development

We want you to grow with us. As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll build hands-on experience in customer experience, store operations, team coaching, KPI execution, and manager-on-duty leadership—with paid training and support to keep moving up. Many of our teammates use this role as a launchpad into store leadership. Your path could look like: Assistant Store Manager → Store Manager → and beyond into multi-unit or field leadership.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Automotive shop environment with exposure to moderate to loud noise, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, and caustic materials.
  • Temperature variations may include extreme heat and/or extreme cold.
  • Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and walk to access various areas of the building.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly, with full range of motion in arms and hands.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds frequently.
  • Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and refocus; use of safety goggles or other PPE as required.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, service advisors, managers, and shop teammates.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
