Position: Assistant Trainer – Design

Location: Delhi-NCR

About the Organization:

Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) is an industry-led organization dedicated to the sustainable development of the furniture and interior industry in India. With the support of 1500+ companies, associations, academia, and Skill Ambassadors, FFSC aims to build a strong ecosystem through skill development initiatives and collaborations.

Objective:

  • Deliver domain-specific training in design-related areas.
  • Build trainee capability in furniture design, interior design, product design, materials, design thinking, and project-based learning.
  • Ensure trainees gain industry-relevant creative and technical design skills.
Key Responsibilities (KRA):
  • Conduct training sessions on design fundamentals, furniture design, interior design, and product design.
  • Train students in concept development, sketching, visualization, ergonomics, materials, finishes, and presentation techniques.
  • Guide trainees in preparing mood boards, technical drawings, layouts, models, prototypes, and portfolios.
  • Support project-based learning and industry-oriented design assignments.
  • Assess trainee performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain training records and submit trainee progress reports.
  • Coordinate with academic, technical, and workshop teams for smooth training delivery.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of design principles, aesthetics, form, function, and ergonomics.
  • Understanding of furniture, interior, or product design processes.
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, joinery basics, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Ability to explain design concepts clearly and practically.
  • Good communication, presentation, mentoring, and feedback skills.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software will be preferred.


Requirements

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, or related discipline.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in design, furniture design, interior design, product design, or related field.
  • Prior training, teaching, workshop, or mentoring experience will be preferred.
