Summary
Analyze securitization tax engagements (CLOs, mortgage-backed securities) using tools like Intex and Python, prepare client deliverables, and research tax/accounting principles for structured debt products.
Roles & responsibilities
Work on securitization tax engagements related to collateralized loan obligations (CLO), credit funds, residential and commercial mortgage backed securitizations and CRE CLOs
Use third party software, such as Intex, Markit among others, to analyze cashflows, the impact on present values, and tax and accounting concepts
Research on federal and some international income tax matters related to income recognition, expense deduction, accounting methods, debt instruments, stated interest, original issue discount, premium, market discount and tax principles impacting various structured debt products and the entities holding and issuing these securities
Analyze large, complex transaction datasets, parsing through multiple sources to achieve desired outcomes; identify process improvements leveraging tools like Python and Alteryx.

Educational qualifications
CA / CFA / FRM/ MBA (Specialization in Finance & Investment Management)
Work experience
The candidate must have 1 to 3 years of working experience in securitization or capital market roles
Mandatory technical & functional skills
Basic understanding of securitization market, understanding of regulatory standards relating to structured products
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, business writing/verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task many activities
Working knowledge of MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point)
Preferred technical & functional skills
Modeling skills using Advanced Excel
Use of Intex, Alteryx, Bloomberg tools
