Associate (2027): Investment Team
As an Associate, you'll drive research, idea generation, and thematic sourcing across Summit's sectors of focus to identify the most compelling investment opportunities. You'll engage directly with entrepreneurs and executives of privately held companies to explore and develop new investment ideas, and you'll build deep knowledge of your sectors by attending conferences and trade shows and forming key relationships. You'll conduct due diligence and quantitative analysis on new investments and add-ons, and you'll help manage portfolio company relationships and strategic projects. This role requires a three-year commitment and is based in either Summit's Boston or Menlo Park office.
Responsibilities
- Drive research, idea generation, and thematic sourcing across sectors of focus
- Identify compelling investment opportunities
- Engage with entrepreneurs and executives of privately held companies to develop new investment ideas
- Build sector knowledge by attending conferences and trade shows and building key relationships
- Conduct due diligence and quantitative analysis on new investments and add-ons
- Help manage portfolio company relationships and strategic projects
Requirements
- Two-to-three years of professional, quantitatively-based experience (typically from investment banking, direct investing, or consulting)
- Proven track record of leadership skills
- Outstanding academic achievement (typically a GPA of 3.6+) and/or professional and extra-curricular achievements
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to think quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to commit to a three-year role
