Associate Account Director

Open 25d posting dated 5 days ago

Summary

An early-career sales role focused on driving commercial growth in Germany by generating outbound leads, supporting deals, and nurturing customer relationships for a retail analytics company.

About the role

We're looking for an Associate Account Director to drive RetailNext's commercial growth across EMEA, with a focus on our expanding markets in Germany. This is an early-career commercial role for someone who wants to learn the full sales cycle from the inside — building pipeline, supporting deals end to end, helping existing customers grow, and lending a hand on marketing in-region.

You'll work directly with our regional sales leadership and partner closely with our Head of EMEA, who provides commercial and customer guidance across the region. The right person is hungry, organized, and proactive: comfortable picking up the phone, chasing leads, and creating commercial momentum without waiting to be asked. You're energized by closing the gap between a prospect and a customer, and you care about getting the details right.

This is a launchpad role for someone who wants a career in sales. You'll get broad commercial exposure in a fast-growing market, with real runway to grow into a quota-carrying sales role as you find your footing.

Reports to: Head of Sales (dotted line to Head of EMEA)

Location: Remote — based in Germany, with the right to work in-region

Salary range: €65,000–€75,000 gross per year, plus commission

What You'll Do

Pipeline Generation & Outbound

  • Own targeted outbound outreach to identify, qualify, and book meetings with new prospects across Germany
  • Research target accounts and build prioritized prospect lists aligned to regional growth goals
  • Follow up relentlessly on inbound and marketing-generated leads to keep the top of the funnel healthy
  • Track outreach activity, conversion, and pipeline contribution against clear targets

Sales Support & Deal Execution

  • Keep the regional sales team and the Head of EMEA moving on day-to-day commercial activity — preparing materials, tracking follow-ups, and pushing deals toward close
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and customer-facing presentations for the German markets
  • Keep CRM records and pipeline data accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate logistics for customer meetings, demos, and regional sales activity

Existing Customers & Partner Support

  • Track relationships with existing EMEA customers, surface renewal and expansion signals, and help the sales team act on them
  • Coordinate joint activity with regional partners and keep those relationships running smoothly

Marketing Support

  • Contribute to regional marketing efforts — events, campaigns, and localized content for the German markets
  • Help coordinate RetailNext's presence at regional trade shows and customer events
  • Feed on-the-ground insight back to the marketing team on what resonates in-region

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2-5 years experience in a sales, business development, or commercial role — early-career welcome, but you should be excited about a sales career
  • Comfortable and confident with outbound outreach: cold calls, emails, and talking to prospects and customers
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — you keep deals and follow-ups on track
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Based in Germany with the right to work in-region; local language fluency strongly preferred
  • Proactive, self-directed working style suited to a remote role

What We Offer

  • Direct exposure to RetailNext's EMEA sales leadership and Head of EMEA from day one
  • A structured runway into a quota-carrying sales role as you build your track record
  • Rare early-career breadth: outbound, deal support, existing-customer growth, and marketing, all in one seat
  • Monthly Recharge Day
  • Holiday Exchange Program
  • Best Self Benefit Program
  • Medical Insurance
  • Work from Anywhere up to 90 days
