As our Melbourne studio continues to grow, we're seeking expressions of interest from talented Senior Architects who are passionate about design excellence, collaborative leadership and delivering complex, meaningful projects.

This is an opportunity to connect with experienced architectural professionals interested in future opportunities across a range of sectors including rail, health, infrastructure, multi-residential, commercial, workplace, education, civic and mixed-use.

As an Associate, you'll play a key leadership role within our practice, leading the delivery of complex architectural projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams and building trusted relationships with clients and collaborators. You'll contribute to the continued growth of our Melbourne studio while helping shape projects that create lasting value for our clients and communities.

Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you'll:

  • Lead the delivery of complex architectural projects, or significant workstreams on major projects, from concept through to completion.
  • Inspire design excellence by balancing creativity, sustainability, technical rigour and commercial outcomes throughout every stage of a project.
  • Lead multidisciplinary consultant teams while managing project scope, programme, resources, budgets and risk to achieve outstanding client outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key project stakeholders, acting as a confident and credible project leader.
  • Contribute to winning new work through client engagement, proposals, presentations and business development activities that support the continued growth of the Melbourne studio.
  • Lead, mentor and develop architects and emerging designers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement and sustainable design practices across projects and teams.
  • Embody Hassell's values by taking ownership, collaborating across disciplines and exploring new possibilities to create exceptional outcomes.
  • A degree in Architecture and registration as an Architect (or eligibility for registration in Australia).
  • Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of complex architectural projects or significant project packages within the Australian market.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating consultants across multiple project stages.
  • Strong design, technical and project delivery capabilities, with the ability to balance design quality, technical excellence and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience managing project programmes, resources, budgets and client expectations within complex project environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients and senior project stakeholders.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a genuine passion for mentoring, developing and inspiring others.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how successful projects contribute to long-term client relationships and business growth.
  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM-enabled project delivery.
  • A passion for creating sustainable, innovative and people-centred design solutions.
