Associate Athletic Director, Student-Athlete Welfare and Compliance

SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Welfare and Compliance is responsible for managing the department’s student-athlete support system and oversight and implementation of a comprehensive NCAA compliant athletic department. Additionally, this position serves as Regis’ Senior Women’s Administrator and supervises selected intercollegiate athletic teams and their respective coaching staffs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Department Leadership
- Assists the Director of Athletics in establishing policies and procedures that ensure effective development of quality, competitive athletic teams and support of the individual educational goals of student-athletes.
- Works closely with academic support and other campus partners in student-athlete retention efforts.
- Supervises selected intercollegiate athletic teams and their respective coaching staffs.
- Serves as the member of the Athletic department’s leadership team and the Senior Women’s Administrator (SWA).
- Assists in serving as a site supervisor for intercollegiate competition.
- Coordinates travel logistics for all teams, including, but not limited to, van leasing and bus transport reservations for external competition and training.
- Oversees talent acquisition process including coordination of posting open staff and graduate assistant positions, organizing phone interviews, coordinating campus visits, and assists in initiating hiring process with supervisors.
- Leads on-boarding process for all new graduate assistant hires. Responsible for coordinating orientation and ongoing professional development for graduate assistant positions.
- Assists in the coordination of athletic department staff meetings, functions, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Student Athlete-Welfare
- Serves as a member of the institutional Case Management Team.
- Works closely with the Faculty Athletics Representative to develop and coordinate an effective academic enrichment program utilizing study halls, existing peer tutoring programs, and academic support programming.
- Collects and analyzes academic indicators to manage academic eligibility on a semester basis (GPA, academic progress towards a degree, academic standing).
- Actively manages student-athlete records on the Starfish online retention software program.
- Designs an effective data gathering instrument(s) to collect academic information for student-athletes on a timely basis.
- Facilitate end-of-season student-athlete satisfaction surveys for all teams.
- Coordinates student-athlete recognition events and programming and special events focused on improving student-athlete welfare.
- Works closely with Chief Conduct Officer in managing student-athlete conduct incidents and climate concerns that may arise, while also assisting in developing athletics sanctions when necessary.
NCAA Compliance
- Monitors compliance with institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics.
- Develops and implements effective protocols to monitor student-athlete compliance.
- Coordinates rules education program for staff and student-athletes.
- Educates student-athletes in the area of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) legislation.
- Manages the transfer portal, and all transfer eligibility forms.
- Schedules and conducts all introductory NCAA compliance meetings in the fall, winter and spring.
- Completes all mandatory NCAA compliance surveys, sport sponsorship forms and coordinates the completion of the NCAA Graduation Rate Report and the NCAA Financial Aid Survey.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Selects, supervises, and evaluates graduate intern and coaching staff as assigned.
