The Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services provides strategic leadership and oversight for initiatives that enhance the student-athlete experience throughout the recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention lifecycle. This position collaborates across Athletics and campus partners to develop innovative programs, improve operational efficiencies, and implement centralized systems that support student-athlete success. The role also serves as a sport administrator, contributes to the administration of revenue sharing and other elements of the evolving collegiate athletics model, oversees student-athlete assessment initiatives, and advances departmental priorities through collaboration, compliance, and continuous improvement.


25% Work with Athletics units supporting sport programs to identify and implement centralized systems to enhance student-athlete recruiting, onboarding and overall experience. Lead Departmental efforts to foster internal communications and efficiencies through assigned shared platform(s) (e.g., Teamworks, Real Response).


15% Foster collaboration between and among Tiger Life, Athletics HR, sport operations directors, assistant coaches and staff to develop and deliver enhancements to programming supporting student-athlete leadership development. Collaborate with Athletics HR to design and deliver professional development programming for assistant coaches and operations staff that is responsive to current and emerging needs of student-athletes.

15% Serve as the primary sport administrator for assigned sport program(s), providing strategic oversight and support for all aspects of program operations. Responsibilities include monitoring program performance and competitiveness; overseeing budgets, scheduling, contracts, and resource allocation; facilitating annual evaluations and goal-setting processes; conducting student-athlete exit interviews and reviewing feedback data; ensuring alignment with departmental and university priorities; and serving as a liaison between the sport program and Athletics leadership. Provide guidance and support to coaches and staff on operational, personnel, compliance, student-athlete welfare, and organizational matters.11


15% Serve as a liaison to assigned campus offices and units, including Housing and International Student Services.


10% Contribute to operational efforts in support of CAPS management, including input and maintenance of student-athlete agreements and reconciliation of revenue share distributions. Actively participate as member of the New Collegiate Model team.


10% Supervise student staff supporting Athletics Administration, including screening, scheduling, onboarding, workflow management, project assignment and evaluation. Manage relevant budget and resources to maximize both productivity for the Department and developmental experiences for students.


5% Provide administrative support for post-season competition logistics.


5% Maintain continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Establish and ensure communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised. Advance and support LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; Five years experience in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics administration, student-athlete services, sport administration, compliance, operations, or a closely related field; Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA, SEC, and institutional rules and regulations; Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
