Associate Attorney

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their thriving Litigation Practice, this role will support a partner in the Columbus, GA office with the option to work from the Atlanta, GA office. This is an opportunity to join a growing team and office, work and collaborate with experienced litigators, participate in case strategy and development, and interact with and develop firm clients.

Responsibilities:

Represent and defend clients in hearings, trials, and depositions in complex civil litigation and appellate matters
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, prepare legal documents/appellate briefs, and prepare and respond to discovery
Effectively communicate on cases, providing consistent updates and assist in developing legal strategy and advice
Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and other team members in building and executing successful defense strategies

Qualifications:

Civil litigation experience, or internships/clerkships for new graduates
Must be an active member in good standing with the Georgia Bar
Writing briefs, memoranda and reports
Motivated in attending trial and applying litigation skills
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
Eagerness and ability to contribute to litigation strategies, be a strategic and complex thinker, and work collaboratively with attorneys and clients in managing cases

Compensation:

Salary starting at $125,000, commensurate with experience, plus two bonus structures and a comprehensive benefits package.
