Summary
Associate consultant at a general management firm, working on client-facing strategy projects across industries like energy, healthcare, and tech, using problem-solving and Microsoft Office tools.
If you are looking for an opportunity to directly contribute to a dynamic, team-centric environment where you will work side-by-side with leadership learning from some of the most experienced and respected professionals in the industry on a broad range of general management consulting engagements, you are in the right place.
ScottMadden is a general management consulting firm with three main practice areas — Energy, Corporate & Shared Services, and Enterprise & Specialized Services. We work with forward-thinking clients across a wide variety of business units and functions, including human capital management, finance & accounting, supply chain and more. Our industry focus is also expansive. In addition to energy, we work in health care, higher education, technology, communications, manufacturing, consumer products and professional services, among others.
The Associate Role
You will work directly with clients and gain exposure to important strategic issues on a broad range of consulting engagements. Associates research, analyze, interview, recommend, facilitate, advise and produce deliverables in a manner that is effective, persuasive and contributes to long lasting client relationships.
Travel, at the discretion of the client, may be necessary.
The Project Team
You will work on small project teams to identify, and often implement, solutions to clients’ problems and challenges. Project teams are typically composed of three or four consultants and a partner. Working closely with experienced ScottMadden consultants and partners will maximize your learning and enable meaningful project contributions from your very first assignment.
The Culture
ScottMadden is an inclusive, tight-knit community of professionals where both collaboration and individual performance are rewarded. Initiative and creativity are recognized and valued. Our culture is both collegial and entrepreneurial. Employees build relationships that extend beyond the office and are always willing to help one another to ensure the work for our clients is done right.
ScottMadden is an ideal place to make your mark and take your career to the next level. Associates are provided a supportive network for career advancement. You are assigned a senior-level sponsor who encourages and supports your development goals and a similar-level onboarding ambassador who ensures you have all the tools needed to be successful during your first year with the firm. Feedback is provided frequently, with structured review processes occurring at the end of each project and annually.
The Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Skilled in problem-solving and building relationships
- Service-oriented and client-focused
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
The Requirements
For the Associate role, you must have three to five years of post-undergraduate work experience. The nature of this experience - whether it is in general management, operations, strategy development, implementation, marketing, or finance - is not as important as the level of responsibility you assumed and the accomplishments you achieved.
Some of our Associates have experience in the energy or management consulting fields; however, specific experience in a particular functional area or industry is not essential for this position as we are confident that the people we hire will learn and begin contributing quickly.
Location
Associates locate near one of our offices in Raleigh, Atlanta or the Greater Boston area, and work from that office at least 2 days per week.
Work Authorization Requirement
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future, as ScottMadden does not provide visa sponsorship.
