Associate – Digital Marketing & Communication
Job Summary
The Associate, Digital Marketing & Communications, is
responsible for AFC’s digital presence and serves as the digital centre of excellence within the
Corporate Communications & Marketing function. The role manages the
Corporation’s website, intranet, social media and emerging digital channels;
produces multimedia content and digital storytelling; plans and executes digital,
paid and email campaigns; and tracks performance to grow and deepen audience engagement. The role also brings digital innovation including AI-enabled tools and
automation to the team and provides digital content
and coverage in support of media relations, events and internal communications,
ensuring AFC’s digital presence is compelling, consistent and aligned with its
strategic objectives across African and global markets.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Communications
- Develop and implement digital communications strategies.
- Manage social media channels.
- Manage website, intranet and email campaigns.
- Analyse and report on digital performance.
- Ensure website content is current and aligned with AFC branding.
Digital Content & Campaigns
- Develop and execute digital content strategies.
- Plan and monitor campaigns promoting AFC initiatives and thought leadership.
- Create articles, videos, infographics and social media content.
- Develop narratives around AFC's mission, impact and sustainability initiatives.
Multimedia & Storytelling
- Produce videos, animations, podcasts and interactive graphics.
- Repurpose content across multiple platforms.
Analytics & Audience Growth
- Monitor website traffic, social engagement and audience growth.
- Prepare analytics reports and optimise digital strategies.
Media Relations, Events & Internal Communications
- Draft press releases and media materials.
- Support AFC flagship events through digital coverage and content.
- Create intranet, newsletter and leadership communication content.
- Support crisis communications initiatives.
Agency & Partner Management
- Coordinate with creative agencies and digital marketing firms.
- Manage digital vendors and partners.
- Build partnerships with digital platforms, influencers and content creators
Digital Strategy &
Platform Management
- Develop and implement
AFC’s digital communications strategy to strengthen the Corporation’s online
presence and support its strategic priorities, including thought leadership,
stakeholder engagement and brand visibility.
- Manage and maintain AFC’s
digital platforms; the corporate website, intranet and social
media channels ensuring content is
timely, accurate, search-optimized and aligned to AFC’s key
messaging.
- Maintain a forward content
calendar that coordinates digital activity with the Corporation’s wider
communications, marketing and events program.
Content & Multimedia
Production
- Create and curate engaging
digital content — including social media posts, articles, infographics, videos
and multimedia storytelling — that showcases AFC’s projects, partnerships and
impact.
- Produce high-quality
multimedia content, including video, motion graphics, photography, podcasts and
interactive graphics, in line with AFC’s visual identity and brand guidelines.
- Craft accessible,
compelling narratives that articulate AFC’s mission, investment impact and
sustainability initiatives for diverse audiences.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media or a related
field.
- A minimum of 6–8 years’
experience in digital communications, digital marketing or related roles,
preferably within the finance, infrastructure, development or related sectors.
- Professional
certifications in digital marketing, content creation, analytics or public
relations are advantageous.
- Excellent written and
spoken English; proficiency in French or other languages relevant to AFC’s
markets is an advantage.
- Expertise in digital
marketing and analytics tools, including web analytics, SEO and social media
management platforms.
- Strong writing and editing
skills, with the ability to craft impactful content for a range of digital
media.
- Proficiency in website and
content management systems, and design and multimedia software (e.g. Adobe
Creative Suite or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of
video, motion graphics and photography production for digital channels.
- Familiarity with
AI-enabled content and productivity tools, and an interest in applying them to
communications.
