Associate Director - Reporting UniVerse - Product & Delivery

Position Overview

Reporting UniVerse is a proprietary Uniqus financial reporting technology platform. It enables finance teams to prepare their financial statements on the platform, using data drawn from their ERP systems.

The Associate Director will lead Reporting UniVerse across product and delivery. The role owns the product roadmap, leads client implementations, and builds and manages the Product Management and Product Delivery teams. The Associate Director works closely with technology teams, Uniqus practice leaders, and senior client stakeholders to translate financial reporting requirements into scalable, technology-enabled solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep financial reporting and accounting expertise with a strong technology orientation. Prior experience in product development, technology implementation, deployment, and client management is highly desirable. We are also open to Chartered Accountants with strong technical capabilities and a demonstrated aptitude for technology and digital solutions.

Location: Gurugram (Delhi NCR)

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy and Roadmap:

a. Own the product roadmap for Reporting UniVerse, aligning priorities with business objectives, client feedback, regulatory developments, and market needs.

b. Lead competitive analysis and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the financial reporting technology landscape.

c. Define and track product KPIs, using performance and adoption data to prioritize enhancements.

2. Requirements and Solution Design:

a. Translate complex financial reporting, accounting, and business requirements into functional and technology specifications.

b. Work with technology and engineering teams to define product features, workflows, controls, reporting outputs, and user experience.

c. Review and sign off on Business Requirement Documents, System Design Documents, process maps, test cases, and implementation plans.

d. Ensure that solutions are technically sound and grounded in accounting principles, controls, and regulatory requirements under Ind AS, IFRS, and US GAAP.

3. Implementation and Delivery Leadership:

a. Lead a portfolio of client implementations end to end, from requirement gathering and ERP data mapping through financial statement configuration, testing, and go-live.

b. Own delivery quality, timelines, and scope, and manage risks and escalations with client and internal stakeholders.

c. Strengthen the implementation methodology, including quality assurance and testing standards, reusable templates, and client onboarding and training approaches.

4. Client Leadership:

a. Act as the senior point of contact for client finance leadership, understanding their business challenges and recommending practical, technology-enabled solutions.

b. Lead solution demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, workshops, and client presentations.

c. Gather client feedback and convert it into product enhancements and customization opportunities.

5. Business Development and Go-to-Market:

a. Lead solutioning, proposals, and client discussions for new Reporting UniVerse opportunities.

b. Represent Reporting UniVerse in client and market discussions, working with ARC, Tech Consulting, and other Uniqus practices.

6. Team Leadership and Development:

a. Lead, mentor, and develop the Product Delivery teams.

b. Allocate work across engagements, review deliverables, and build a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous learning.

c. Support recruitment and capability building, including training on the platform and on financial reporting requirements.

7. Stakeholder Reporting:

a. Provide regular updates to Uniqus leadership on the product roadmap, delivery status, risks, and pipeline.

Qualifications

- Educational Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant.

- Experience: 8+ years of post-qualification experience, combining financial reporting or technical accounting expertise with product development, technology implementation, or digital transformation in finance.

- Deep knowledge of financial statement preparation and reporting under Ind AS, IFRS, and/or US GAAP, including presentation and disclosure requirements.

- Strong understanding of ERP data and the financial close and reporting process.

- Hands-on experience with product or implementation practices, such as requirement documentation, user acceptance testing, and Agile delivery.

- Exposure to financial reporting, consolidation, or disclosure management tools is an advantage.

- Advanced MS Excel skills. Familiarity with data and analytics tools is an advantage.

- Proven experience leading and developing teams, and managing multiple engagements at once.

- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior client finance stakeholders.

- Commercial acumen, with experience in proposals, solutioning, and business development.

- Willingness to travel to client locations as required.
