Associate Director, UI/UX Architect, Agentic Factory

Team: IT

Location: US

Commitment: Full-time

Workplace Type: remote

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, UI/UX Architect, Agentic Factory based in the United States.

This is a highly hands-on leadership role focused on designing and shipping next-generation user experiences for agentic AI products. You will work directly with product and engineering teams across a broad portfolio of businesses to turn emerging AI capabilities into intuitive, production-ready interfaces. The role combines product design, front-end architecture, engineering, and AI interaction design in a fast-paced environment where prototypes can move from concept to production in weeks. You will define scalable design systems and interaction patterns for copilots, autonomous workflows, and human-in-the-loop experiences. As a subject matter expert, you will also influence front-end standards, AI UX practices, and product strategy across multiple organizations. The role requires a builder mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to collaborate closely with teams, including through on-site and compressed delivery cycles.

Accountabilities

    • Partner with product and engineering teams across portfolio companies to design and ship front-end experiences and user flows that integrate agentic AI capabilities into existing products.
    • Rapidly prototype interactive, production-track interfaces in hours, gather feedback, and iterate collaboratively toward scalable solutions.
    • Lead end-to-end UI/UX delivery for agent implementations, using structured methodologies to help teams achieve MVP outcomes within compressed timelines.
    • Translate emerging agentic interaction patterns, including chat interfaces, copilots, autonomous workflows, and human-in-the-loop review, into intuitive and trustworthy user experiences.
    • Architect scalable and maintainable front-end solutions using React, TypeScript, modern CSS, and component-driven development practices.
    • Build and extend reusable design systems and component libraries that enable consistent, accessible, and efficient agentic experiences across different products.
    • Define UX patterns for communicating agent reasoning, confidence, citations, observability, and human intervention points based on risk and domain complexity.
    • Establish standards for accessibility, responsive design, usability, performance, and front-end quality.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in agentic UX, modern front-end engineering, and AI interface design for portfolio teams and senior stakeholders.
    • Evaluate emerging front-end frameworks, design tools, and AI interface patterns and assess their potential impact on product strategies and roadmaps.
    • Develop and promote best practices for rapid prototyping, agentic interface design, design systems, and production-quality front-end development.
    • Support due diligence activities by assessing product UX maturity, front-end architecture, technical debt, and readiness for agentic AI adoption.
    • Provide design and front-end assessments that help inform investment decisions and post-acquisition value creation initiatives.
    • Collaborate across multiple organizations simultaneously, translating technical and design decisions for both engineering teams and executive audiences.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
      • 5+ years of experience shipping production-grade product front-ends and user experiences at scale.
      • Recent hands-on experience integrating user interfaces with AI, LLM, or agentic backends.
      • Proven track record of taking polished product experiences from concept through production rather than focusing solely on prototypes.
      • Strong proficiency with React, TypeScript, modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind, and component-driven front-end architecture.
      • Advanced product design and prototyping skills using Figma, design systems, and modern design workflows.
      • Experience integrating front-end applications with cloud-based AI and agentic backends, including REST APIs, streaming APIs, LangGraph, LangChain, or similar technologies.
      • Strong understanding of AI/agentic UX patterns, including chat and copilot interfaces, agent observability, confidence and citation displays, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
      • Experience optimizing accessibility, responsive design, usability, and front-end performance.
      • Ability to move rapidly from an initial concept to an interactive, production-track interface within highly compressed development cycles.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when working through ambiguous product and technical challenges.
      • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple organizations, product teams, engineering groups, and leadership stakeholders.
      • Experience working in private equity portfolio companies, consulting, or other multi-client environments is strongly preferred.
      • Willingness and ability to participate in close, potentially on-site collaboration during intensive product development cycles.
      • Benefits

        • Annualized base salary range of $160,000–$210,000, depending on experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, and skill set.
        • Potential eligibility for an annual cash bonus.
        • Comprehensive employee benefits package.
        • Opportunity to work on high-impact agentic AI products across a diverse portfolio of businesses.
        • Highly hands-on environment combining product design, front-end engineering, AI, and technology strategy.
        • Significant opportunity to influence emerging standards for agentic UX and AI-powered product experiences.
        • Exposure to senior product, engineering, and executive stakeholders across multiple organizations.
        • Opportunity to contribute to both rapid product delivery and broader technology transformation initiatives.
