Summary

Prevents and controls infections in a hospital by monitoring outbreaks, training staff, and ensuring compliance with health regulations using epidemiology and public health practices.

This is a combined posting for an Associate Infection Preventionist, Infection Preventionist and Senior Infection Preventionist The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Consideration for each role will be based on qualifications. If you have the qualifications of any one of these three positions, we encourage you to apply.

The Senior Infection Preventionist is considered to have expertise in Infection Prevention. A Senior IP is expected to work autonomously and to serve as a mentor to other infection preventionists.

The Infection Preventionist is a specialized position with a focus on infectious disease surveillance and reporting. This role is expected to work in a predominantly autonomous fashion and should not require mentorship in their role. The role will work closely with other surveillance IP specialists and analysts as part of an overall system surveillance program.

The Associate Infection Preventionist is the entry-level position for Infection Prevention. A candidate for this position must have a sufficient healthcare background but requires only basic infection prevention/epidemiology knowledge, as the majority of training will occur on the job.

Senior Infection Preventionist

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
  • Upon hire: National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
  • 2 years Healthcare experience.
  • 2 years Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
  • 10 or more years in Healthcare experience.
  • 10 or more years Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience.

Infection Preventionist

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field.
  • Within 1 year of hire: Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
  • 1 year of Healthcare Experience
  • 1 years of Epidemiology Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field Or equivalent educ/experience
  • 4 years of Healthcare Experience
  • 2 years of Epidemiology Experience
  • Upon hire Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology

Associate Infection Preventionist

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • a-IPC

Senior Infection Preventionist Min: $48.65, Max: $76.80

Infection Preventionist Min: $42.08, Max: $65.32

Associate Infection Preventionist Min: $37.39, Max: $58.05
