Role Summary:
The Associate will join the Infrastructure & Sustainable Energies team based in São Paulo, with the primary focus on the Latin American region. The Associate will be responsible for conducting investment research, assisting in building investment recommendations, implementing investment strategies, and monitoring and managing portfolio assets. In addition to regional responsibilities, the Associate may also collaborate on global investments and initiatives, supporting our worldwide efforts.Accountabilities & Qualifications:
Accountabilities
Compile industry, market and asset level data and financial information to support research
Build and maintain clear, well-structured financial models and valuation analyses to assess risk/return of opportunities and support investment decisions
Lead discrete due-diligence workstreams (e.g. financial, commercial and operational) and summarize key findings, risks and mitigants
Contribute to the evaluation of opportunities by articulating views on overall attractiveness based on financial analysis and diligence findings
Prepare clear, analytical materials (e.g. industry overviews, investment rationales and diligence summaries) for Investment Committee
Participate in presenting investment recommendations to the Investment Committee
Support transaction execution activities (including process management, structuring and documentation)
Monitor and manage portfolio assets, update models, track performance indicators and identify value-creation initiatives
Develop relationships with potential partners, external advisors, intermediaries and management teams in connection with origination, due diligence and post-investment asset management
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or college diploma in relevant field
3-5 years of relevant work experience
Strong research, analytical, financial modeling, valuation, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements and knowledge of valuation techniques
Experience working in deal environments including supporting acquisitions, diligence and/or asset management activities
Fluent in English, as well as Portuguese or Spanish; excellent communication, both written and verbal
Have a track record of academic achievement and professional advancement
Work effectively in a team environment
Have great communication, interpersonal and relationship building skill.
