Position Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Associate IT Systems Analyst to join our IT team here at our Head Office in South Shields. This role is tailored for someone early on in their IT or systems career, who is eager to learn, develop robust technical and analytical skills, and gain hands-on experience with enterprise applications. Reporting directly to a Senior Systems Analyst, you will benefit from structured mentoring and supportive guidance to help you grow into an independent delivery professional. *The role is based at our Head Office in South Shields and the expectation is 4 days onsite and 1 day of home working.*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Requirements & Analysis: Assist in gathering, clarifying, and documenting business and systems requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.

Solution Delivery: Support the design, development and delivery of IT solutions across multiple enterprise platforms.

Documentation: Create and maintain accurate system documentation, including detailed process maps, requirements documents, and records of system changes.

Testing & Implementation: Support system configuration, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect tracking, and deployment activities to smoothly transition solutions into operational environments.

Systems Support: Help investigate and resolve system issues and support requests, liaising with senior analysts, developers, and support teams.

Governance & Compliance: Learn and apply organisational standards, change control processes, and security policies to ensure solutions align with our architecture framework.

Skills and Experience:

Education: A degree (or currently working towards one) in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, related field or hands on work experience.

Technical Awareness: A basic understanding of IT systems, applications, solution design, and software development lifecycle concepts.

Core Skills: Strong organisational skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to document requirements clearly and accurately.

Communication & Teamwork: Good written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative nature and the ability to work effectively under guidance.

Mindset: A positive attitude, a keen interest in business process analysis, and an eagerness to learn new systems and tasks.

Desirable but not essential: Relevant placement/entry-level experience, or professional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis Foundation or ITIL Foundation.
