Summary
Legal Associate in Singapore’s banking team drafts and negotiates finance agreements for deals like leveraged buyouts and syndicated loans while advising clients and mentoring junior lawyers.
We are looking for a passionate, curious and driven Associate to be a part of our Banking team in Singapore. Reporting to the Partners, in this role, you will be drafting and negotiating a wide range of facility documentation across all fields of banking and finance such as leverage buy outs, acquisition financing, syndicated lending and structured trade finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating finance documentation, demonstrating familiarity with the latest trends, precedents and market standards
- Providing sound commercial and legal advice to clients
- Acting for borrowers and lenders
- Supervising, managing and mentoring junior lawyers in the team; leading by example and being a strong team player
- Networking with clients and other market players alike, in order to capitalize on new business opportunities
- Contributing know-how and experience to the team
- Communicating assertively when under pressure and being a proactive team player
Key Requirements:
- Excellent academic credentials
- Admitted in a common law jurisdiction
- NQ to 4 PQE (on the UK scale)
- Experience within a top tier firm would have an added advantage
- Strong networking and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
