Associate Manager Digital Services

Position Summary & Objective:

The Associate Manager, Digital Services is responsible to the day-to-day deployment of the Digital Services Team in maintaining and supporting all the hardware, systems and applications utilised in the manufacturing of products across the site. The Associate Manager serves as a technical reference for the Digital Services, i.e. automatic inspection and personalisation systems, and highlights any technical Continuous Improvement venues to be explored.

Essential Functions Performed by the Position:

Individual:

  • Manage the Digital Services Experts as part of the Digital Services Team.
  • Provide all resources needs for team members to perform their duties.
  • Define the training plans and skill matrix of the team.
  • Define short-term objective for the team.
  • Hold regular meetings with the team to review their Personal Development.
  • Ensure the team activities the defined KPIs.
  • Support training of shopfloor crews with respect to Vision and Personalisation subjects.
  • Communicate all knowledge and lessons learned across the entire team.
  • Responsible for Digital Systems, including, configuration modes, shopfloor operation and data output.
  • Responsible for all variant -print information layout files.
  • Responsible for the data traceability and interpretation within the digital systems scope.
  • Support the realisation of technical projects that enables the product functions as agreed with the customer.

  • Support the divisional Technical Product team on any requirements and trials in terms of technical functionalities on products and Personalisation processes.
  • Assist the Digital Services Manager as required in budgeting and expenditure.
  • Assist and support the business in any technical areas of personalisation.
  • Follow problem-solving best practices in a LEAN manufacturing environment.
  • Interact and collaborate with other department, such as Engineering, IT and NPI, as needed on Digital Services subjects.
  • Assist the Quality department with respect to providing and interpreting data for any requirements, such as customer complaints, improvements, traceability, audits etc.
  • Support all audits as required in the department with respect to Personalisation subjects.
  • Support shopfloor in meeting all SLAs OTIF.
  • Support all Authentication process in PA&T, PCID and MO.
  • Assist in any acceptance testing of equipment housing Digital Services processes.
  • Participate in daily and weekly department meetings.
  • Coach/Train team personnel to introduce new systems/techniques allowing the smooth progression towards an operational excellence team.
  • Communicates in form of report, presentations and other means when required.
  • Provides technical documentation for new projects, installations and/or modifications.
  • Liaise directly with OEM and generic suppliers.
  • Generation of SOPs and Work Instructions where necessary capturing vital information regarding maintenance interventions.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement exercises while promoting team integration and participation.
  • Take initiatives to undergo any relevant training courses.
  • Complete goals defined at all levels (individual, team, site & corporate).
  • Organize and support in training of new candidates and provide requested information to promote team building.

Division:

  • Support the Divisional leadership team, executing the strategy for Authentication in terms of the core MO, GRS, brand protection and PC security propositions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support effective decision-making provide input as required to the annual strategic planning cycle.
  • Attendance of self.
  • Support and follow the governance and operational disciplines applicable across the division.
  • Embrace Crane Business Systems and Shared Values.
  • Report and contribute to resolving Safety and Security near miss reports.
  • Contribute to deliver to customer OTIF, without compromising Quality.
  • Contribute to maintain OEE at target levels.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • MQF level 6 or higher in ICT, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in digital systems, variable data printing, product inspections, system integrations and related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading initiatives and projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Setting up, maintaining, integrating and optimizing hardware systems and their associated software.
  • Very good working knowledge in using camera-based inspection systems.
  • High level of IT troubleshooting.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Certifications in project management, ITIL or relevant disciplines preferred.

Language Proficiency:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Suite, specifically Excel Advanced and including Copilot AI-powered tools, and other standard business applications.
  • Knowledge of modern and legacy operating systems.
  • Experience setting up hardware systems and their associated software.
  • Experience integrating hardware and software.
  • Interest in Industry 4.0 considered a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in methods, tools and routines as applied in the manufacturing industry.
  • Expert user of vision inspection tools and digital image processing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform in fast-paced environments on own accord.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • A desire to meet and exceed customer expectations in QCD.

Working Hours and Conditions:

  • Working hours and shift schedules to be changed according to the requirements of the business.
  • Predominantly Shopfloor Environment.

Physical Characteristics and Demands:

  • This role can occasionally be sedentary in nature; you must be able to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to identify visual displays on diverse backgrounds.
