More about the team and the role

  • Assess and coordinate pro bono referrals, working with community legal centres, internal stakeholders and legal teams to determine eligibility, risk and resourcing requirements.

  • Coordinate a range of pro bono initiatives, including legal clinics, workshops and lawyer secondments, while preparing training materials, resources and related documentation.

  • Support Wills & Estates pro bono matters, including wills, end-of-life planning documents and estate administration matters.

  • Draft and maintain secondment agreements, volunteer agreements, precedents and internal templates, supporting the ongoing development of the firm's pro bono program.

  • Build strong relationships across the firm and with external partners, while contributing to training, presentations and networking initiatives.

  • There will also be the opportunity to participate in the firm’s various pro bono clinics, community legal education, legal matters and projects.

More about you

  • An experienced lawyer with approximately 2+ years' PQE with exposure in Wills & Estates and/or experience in a pro bono practice, community legal centres or the not-for-profit sector.

  • Strong drafting and analytical skills, with the ability to assess legal issues, manage risk and prepare high-quality legal documents and precedents.

  • Highly organised and process-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate a variety of stakeholders.

  • A confident relationship builder who enjoys collaborating across teams, supporting junior lawyers and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

  • This role will require occasional short-term travel to assist with remote wills workshops (a few days to a week at a time, up to four times a year).​
