Associate Product Analyst - Data Platform & Integrations
We are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Associate Product Analyst to join our team. You will play a critical role in owning data integrations as products at feature scale. Our team ingests high-volume, low-latency data from a number of external providers and you will be responsible for establishing what the data actually guarantees, writing that down in terms that can be proven rather than asserted and holding the pipeline to it. This role suits someone who wants to move properly into product and would rather understand one pipeline to the bottom than manage five superficially, offering genuine technical depth and ownership from the start. You will report to the Product Manager for Data & Integrations and work daily with engineering, QA Team and our data providers.
Responsibilities
Investigate new and changed provider APIs and establish what the source genuinely delivers — not what the documentation claims. Read the spec, then probe the live endpoint and reconcile the two.
Write and own the data contract for each integration: the message schemas, the ingestion boundary, the transform and normalization rules into our internal model, and the guarantees the pipeline makes to everything downstream.
Define correctness in provable terms — completeness, ordering, exactly-once delivery, idempotency, freshness, and latency budgets — so that "the feed is working" is a testable claim rather than an opinion.
Specify how the pipeline handles the messy reality of third-party data: partial payloads, late corrections and restatements, out-of-order and duplicate messages, schema drift between provider releases, upstream outages, and backfill or replay after recovery.
Own the data-quality loop for your sources. When a downstream consumer reports something wrong, establish whether the cause sits in the source, the ingestion, the transform, or the presentation, and take it to the right team with the evidence already assembled.
Write tickets engineering can build from and QA can verify against, and run refinement and sprint planning for your scope.
Plan rollouts through our environment ladder, including the fan-out of a single upstream connection to multiple consuming environments, and define what has to be true before each gate opens.
Be the day-to-day product contact for your providers — raise the gaps, chase the answers, track what was committed, and escalate what sits on the critical path.
Produce integration documentation at two registers, developer and management, in English and Chinese.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field
1–2 years of experience in a role next to product (e.g., business or systems analysis, QA, data or integration analysis, analytics engineering, technical support, delivery) with at least one integration or data feature you genuinely owned end-to-end.
Technical Proficiency: You are comfortable both in an API's documentation and in its actual response payload. Nested structures, enumerations, identifier schemes, versioning. You know that a field being absent, null, and semantically empty are three different problems, and why that distinction survives all the way downstream.
Analytical Rigor: You can turn a vague requirement into acceptance criteria somebody could disprove.
Technical Depth: Enough depth to read JSON, probe an endpoint, read a query, and trace a single record through a pipeline far enough to know whose problem it is. You do not need to write production code.
Standard Tooling: Jira and Confluence are everyday tools for you, not occasional ones.
Communication: Strong written English — other teams will depend on documents you author — plus Chinese good enough for partner-facing material.
The "Why" Factor: Most importantly: you push on why. When something looks wrong you find the cause rather than describing the symptom well and passing it on, and you raise the question early rather than reasoning your way alone to a confident wrong answer.
Preferred Qualifications
Event-driven or streaming data: message queues and consumer groups, replay and golden-record testing, delivery-guarantee reasoning.
Data modeling, or work with analytical and columnar stores.
Data quality, observability, or lineage tooling.
Experience integrating third-party vendor data under commercial deadlines, including chasing a provider for a fix.
High-throughput systems: Experience with latency-sensitive systems where stale data is as bad as wrong data.
Domain Expertise: Real-time sports or media data.
What you'll get
Ownership from the start: You will hold real integrations, not a corner of somebody else's.
Genuine technical depth: provider protocols, message and schema design, delivery guarantees, pipeline quality — in a domain where correctness is visible downstream within seconds, so you find out quickly whether you got it right.
