Associate Product Manager

Job Summary:

Manages brands globally within the portfolio, including tactical and strategic planning to achieve franchise revenue goals. Assists with the identification of market trends, VOC (Voice of Customer) feedback, and competitive product/program assessments to guide portfolio decision-making. Aligns individual plans and objectives with those of the other Brand Managers in the group, including the formulation of invest/keep/retire plans for product brands. Assists with evaluation of the needs of product marketing and sales personnel on a global basis.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in the marketing development effort to bring new products from concept through commercialization, including market exit.

  • Reviews Global Sales Data and reports on a monthly basis in conjunction with Finance.

  • Works closely with Sales Training to ensure all necessary information is provided for new and existing products; assists with Sales Training as needed.

  • Required to be a subject matter expert on products that they manage individually. In addition, they need to be knowledgeable on and able to present to existing and potential customers any other products in their product engine portfolio.

  • Assist the commercial team with responding to product-related questions.

  • Develops and maintains a high level of competitive knowledge in the product category.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparing and delivering impactful slide presentations

  • Uses knowledge of existing products, new developments, and market needs to assist in the formulation of strategic and creative marketing plans.

  • Assists with the preparation and finalization of business cases with input from all regions; prepares and presents those business cases to the leadership group of the franchise. .

  • Uses and understands technical medical language to interact with internal and external customers.

  • Supports the assessment of brand viability relative to existing products with new product offerings to enhance overall brand offering.

  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of customer and end-user needs, as well as product positioning relative to the competition.

  • Must be proficient with commonly used software.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • B.S. degree, preferably including formal studies in business;

  • 3-5 years product management experience; sales experience in healthcare, strong preference for orthopedics.

  • An MBA is preferred but not required.

  • Operating Room experience preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements

Up to 40%

Salary $70,000-85,000 Annually
