Position Overview We're looking for an Associate Product Manager to champion the MK.IO operator experience. This is an early-career role perfect for someone who loves making sophisticated technology easy to use. You'll translate the needs of operations teams into clear product requirements that engineering can run with. You will work at the intersection of video streaming operations and product development. Your user stories, acceptance criteria, and problem statements will directly shape how operators manage live events and on-demand video at scale, serving audiences from thousands to millions of viewers. This role is ideal if you're naturally curious about how things work, empathetic to user challenges, and excited to learn video streaming technology while building core product management skills. Key Responsibilities Develop deep empathy for the daily challenges, workflows, and pain points of streaming platform operators
Translate operational feedback and requirements into actionable product improvements
Write detailed user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria that engineering teams can implement confidently
Create problem statements that articulate the "why" behind requests with data and user context
Maintain and evolve requirements throughout the development lifecycle based on team feedback
Unblock teams by clarifying requirements, answering questions, and making prioritization decisions
Test features from an operator perspective, validating that solutions meet real-world operational needs
Work with designers to ensure user interfaces match operational workflows and mental models
Transform sophisticated streaming technology capabilities into intuitive, accessible operator experiences
Document decisions and trade-offs in a way that both technical and business stakeholders understand
Define success metrics for features and track adoption post-launch Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience
Around 2 years of experience in product management, technical writing, operations, or a related field
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex concepts clearly
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Experience with or enthusiasm for learning video streaming concepts and workflows
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and software development processes
Natural empathy and ability to understand diverse user perspectives and operational contexts
Genuine curiosity about both the technology and the business value it creates Desired Experience Exposure to SaaS platforms, APIs, or developer tools
Competence with scripting language (Python, JavaScript, or similar) for data analysis and API exploration
Understanding of live video workflows, CDN operations, or media production environments
Familiarity with data analysis tools and methods for user research
