Your role?
As an Associate Production Manager (APM), you will work closely with our Production Coordinators and Production Assistants to keep our shows operating smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule. Depending on the size of the project, you will oversee sequence or discipline schedules to build and maintain a comprehensive master plan. Working side by side with our Producers, Production Managers, and Supervisors, you will manage small to medium coordination teams, balancing client needs and resource allocation while seamlessly bridging communication between artists, editorial, cross-site teams, and external vendors across the broader pipeline.
What will you be doing?
Establishing show schedules alongside Coordinators, driving milestones with Production Managers, and tracking artist workflows, client reviews, and deliveries in ShotGrid.
Directing, mentoring, and delegating to Production Coordinators and Production Assistants while collaborating with discipline leads on crewing and casting.
Partnering with Producers and Production Managers to bid shot work and oversee external vendor schedules and budgets to align with overall show goals.
Serving as the key liaison between Production, Editorial, and cross site teams to manage cut lengths, shot updates, and resource distribution.
Supporting on location blue screen and principal photography when required, capturing crucial shot metadata, and managing stage equipment and schedules.
Facilitating dailies and reviews across Linux, Windows, and Mac platforms, while troubleshooting basic technical viewstation setups and escalating issues.
Monitoring overall progress, generating weekly progress summaries for show leadership, and anticipating schedule risks to reach timely solutions.
To be a contributing member of this team, you will have a mix of these skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a VFX production environment, with a deep understanding of post production workflows and terminology.
Proficiency across Mac, PC, and UNIX environments (including MS Office and ShotGrid), with the technical capability to run reviews and execute basic troubleshooting scripts.
Proven ability to mentor production staff, manage diverse personalities, and foster a supportive, team oriented environment.
Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with a track record of balancing multiple complex priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail and proactive problem solving abilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Art, Drama (or equivalent practical experience), with the flexibility to travel, work overtime as needed, and assist on set or cover coordinator duties when required.
