About the role and team
The GSS - Scaled Operations team is transforming how operational work gets done by combining program management, operational expertise, software development, and AI.
We are looking for an Associate Program Manager (L2) who can identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and build solutions to address them.
You will work closely with other operations Program Managers to understand pain points, identify repetitive or inefficient work, and determine where AI automation can fundamentally improve the process. You will then prototype and build solutions — writing code, integrating APIs, working with LLMs and AI agents, and developing lightweight internal tools and automations. For larger or more complex opportunities, you will partner with the broader Engineering Services organization to productionize and scale it.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both solving operational problems and building technology.

Discover & Prioritize Automation Opportunities
Partner with Uber Program Managers and Operations teams to understand workflows, pain points, manual effort, quality issues, and operational constraints
Build and maintain a pipeline of AI and automation opportunities
Prioritize opportunities based on potential impact, technical feasibility, complexity, and time to value
Research emerging AI capabilities and identify practical applications for Scaled Operations
Build AI & Automation Solutions
Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, automations, internal tools, and AI-powered workflows
Build workflows using LLMs, AI agents, RAG, structured data extraction, classification, summarization, and other AI techniques
Build lightweight interfaces or tools that allow Operations teams to interact with automation
Establish appropriate evaluation frameworks for AI solutions, including accuracy, precision/recall, automation rate, latency, cost, and human override rates
Run pilots with Operations teams and incorporate feedback rapidly
Partner with the broader Engineering Services organization to transition the solution into a scalable, production-grade platform or application
