Associate Researcher I (Dr Drexler's Lab) - Neurosciences

The Associate Researcher I is a laboratory research position, responsible for independent conduct of routine and standardized experiments. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes, performs assays to support research studies, and assists in the clerical and supply aspects of the laboratory environment.

Under moderate supervision, the Associate Researcher will support ongoing studies of brain cancer-neuron circuit interactions. Responsibilities include:

• Performs routine and standardized experiments using in vitro and in vivo tumor models.
• Assists with rodent stereotactic and survival surgeries.
• Assists senior-level researchers with optogenetics, fiber photometry and Neuropixels recordings.
• Performs data collection and analysis.
• Maintains lab supplies, equipment, and reagent inventory; coordinates ordering and routine equipment upkeep. Maintains accurate records and complies with IACUC, biosafety, and institutional requirements.
• Performs other related duties

• Bachelors or Masters degree in science or related field (neuroscience, cancer biology, etc) required
• No experience required. One year of research experience preferred.
• Prior laboratory research experience, including basic molecular, cellular, or animal techniques.
• Familiarity with rodent handling; willingness to be trained in survival surgery.
