Associate Scientist

Summary

Performs routine laboratory testing and calculations under supervision, documents results, and supports workflow needs for sponsors in a biochemistry or chemistry-focused role.

  • Executes plan/schedule developed by supervisor
  • Completes specified activities aligned with the individual goals. Proactive to address work issues at the individual level. Understands personal role in job performance metrices per job plan.
  • Focus in on meeting needs of Sponsors, in the context of outputs to the next stage of workflow, and customer expectations
  • Understands extra effort sometimes required to meet group deadlines. Commitment to occasional overtime as workload requires.
  • Follows established procedures to complete routine testing; may develop solution for basic technical problems.
  • Understand and perform calculations as required by test methods and/or protocols
  • Understand and utilize computers for information access, calculations and report preparation.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Writes clear, concise technical conclusions in laboratory notebooks. Informs supervisor and interacts with peers in a clear, timely and professional manner.
  • Focus in on personal learning and skill development. Identifies improvement opportunities in laboratory operations in which they have demonstrated proficiency. Independently seek out work.
  • Take personal responsibility to be honest and direct. Assures compliance and integrity of laboratory work, and meets personal commitments. Supports Eurofins' values (Eurofins Quality Mannual)
  • Support LEAN initiatives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or closely related physical science from a four-year college/university or equivalent education and training
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

    Position is full time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.

    The pay rate of this position is $27.5/h.
