About the role:
As the Associate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting
the implementation of the social emotional learning
program in partner schools.
About the Program:
Bhumi’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Program works to
create safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environments
where children can thrive academically and emotionally.
Through a whole-school approach, the program strengthens
student wellbeing, builds educator capacity, and supports
positive school culture. We partner with government and
low-income schools across Tamil Nadu to integrate SEL into
everyday teaching and learning. Our work reaches
thousands of students annually, equipping them with
essential life skills such as self-awareness, empathy,
resilience, and responsible decision-making.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and adaptation of SEL
curriculum materials, resources, and activities to
meet the needs of diverse learners and educational
settings.
- Collaborate with educators and other stakeholders
to integrate SEL practices into classroom
instruction, school culture, and extracurricular
activities.
- Facilitate SEL workshops, training sessions, and
professional development opportunities for staff to
enhance their understanding and implementation
of SEL strategies.
- Support the collection and analysis of data related
to the implementation and effectiveness of SEL
programs and interventions.
Educational Qualification/Experience:
- Educational Degree : Graduate, post-graduate in relevant
fields such as Psychology, Education, or Social Work, or
fellowship experience
- Relevant Experience(in years) : Previous experience in
education, counseling, social work or related fields, with a
focus on social emotional learning or mental health support
(preferred).
Knowledge & Skill sets required:
- Knowledge of SEL frameworks, theories, and
evidence-based practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills,
with the ability to build relationships and
collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating workshops, training
sessions, or group activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a
team, with strong organizational and time
management skills.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in
education and social emotional support.
