Associate Software Engineer
Summary
Associate Software Engineer builds and maintains .NET Core backend and React frontend features, writes tests, and collaborates with cross-functional teams in a mentored environment.
About the Role
As Software Engineer I, you'll join a collaborative team that spans onshore and offshore engineers, working across the full stack of our web application. You'll write production code, fix bugs, write tests, and ship features under the guidance of senior engineers, with room to grow quickly as you build real-world experience. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is curious, coachable, and eager to learn modern engineering practices in a supportive environment.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain features across our .NET Core backend and React frontend under the guidance of senior engineers
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback
- Collaborate with QA, product managers, and both onshore and offshore teammates in a bi-weekly sprint cadence
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, working from reported issues through to root cause and fix
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests to support our automated testing efforts
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, and contribute to our software development lifecycle
- Document your work clearly for teammates and for future maintainers
- Continuously learn our codebase, tooling, and the vendor/workforce management domain
What We're
Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 0–2 years of professional software development experience (internships and academic projects count)
- Exposure to an object-oriented language (C#, Java, or similar) and willingness to grow deep expertise in .NET Core
- Some familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and a frontend framework (React preferred, but not required)
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Familiarity with Git or another version control system
- Strong problem-solving instincts and a habit of asking good questions
- Clear written and verbal communication, especially in a team that spans time zones
- A growth mindset — you take feedback well and enjoy learning from teammates
Nice to Have
- Coursework or project experience with .NET / C# and React specifically
- Experience with Agile/Scrum ceremonies (even in an academic or internship setting)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) or containerization (Docker)
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, xUnit, Jest)
- Prior use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
What We Offer
- Structured mentorship from senior and principal engineers
- Hands-on experience with a real production SaaS platform used by enterprise customers
- A modern, actively evolving tech stack and engineering culture
- Hybrid work flexibility based in Raleigh, NC
- Competitive salary, benefits, and paid time off
